Here’s one of the internet’s most asked organizing questions: how do you organize bathroom toiletries?
There are many gorgeous, eye-catching ways to organize bathroom toiletries. But I prefer convenient and effective organization that gets bang for my buck.
We’ve used the same organization system for several years and it works great for our family.
One problem we’ve faced in both of our bathrooms is a severe lack of storage. Fortunately, we have a large linen cabinet in our hallway that we use for bath storage.
Effectively using storage spaces
Large cabinets can pose as big of a problem as small ones …when there’s a lot of open space, it’s harder to contain items. Allowing items to float around loosely is exactly how things go missing.
Before, we solved this problem by using two fabric cube bins to store all our toiletries. But this caused another problem.
The bins were so large that we overloaded them with items and we couldn’t find what we needed.
Rather than spending $60+ on a solution for this cabinet, I spent $6.
We organize bathroom toiletries into separate categories using these boxes.
The beauty of these boxes are that they’re:
- Stackable, so we can fit several in our cabinet vertically.
- Removable, so if we can easily take them out to search for items, take inventory, or reload.
- Washable, so if anything spills, I can easily rinse or wipe it.
I found these a Walmart, but I’m sure you could find nicer ones if you wanted something more stylish.
I gave mine a little personality by labeling them with an oil-based sharpie. If I want to repurpose these boxes later, I can wash off the labels.
These boxes are hidden behind closed doors so I don’t mind the look. In fact, when I open the cabinet, seeing these boxes neatly stacked makes my home feel peaceful and orderly.
This is just one solution to organize bathroom toiletries, and it’s working really well for us. For only $6, it was worth trying. If it didn’t work, I could use the boxes somewhere else.
See how I use the same boxes in other parts of my home here.
