For most people, doing laundry or washing dishes are unbearable household chores. But what I dread more than any other chore is cleaning a shower or tub. After years of searching for the easiest way to clean a shower, I have finally found it.
I follow an Instagram account that often shares nifty cleaning tools that are, in my opinion, mostly unnecessary. Then this electric spin scrubber showed up in my feed, and I knew it was the answer to my dilemma.
I headed straight to Amazon, ordered it, and I haven’t looked back.
Usually, spending $36 on a cleaning tool is ludicrous to me. But since scrubbing the shower is the worst chore ever invented, a $36 splurge was 100% worth it.
I can tell you with 100% confidence that using this electric spin scrubber is the easiest way to clean a shower.
How to clean a shower
Let me preface all this by saying that our shower is original to our house (over 20 years old). There’s a lot of soap scum built up on the glass (gross), and it’s been tough trying to get it off.
Since getting my nifty new tool, I’ve been using a homemade shower cleaner of equal parts distilled white vinegar and Dawn dish soap (50/50). I spray it on every surface of the shower or tub, let it sit for 30 minutes, rinse, then scrub with the flat head and corner head of the electric spin scrubber.
I’ve managed to remove a lot of soap scum from the glass after several weeks of using the homemade shower cleaner and the spin scrubber. There’s a lot still there, but I’m making a lot more progress.
The best parts are I don’t dread cleaning the shower and I can let my 7-year-old clean her own shower with the scrubber. (She thinks it’s great fun.)
More about the electric spin scrubber
The electric spin scrubber runs on a rechargeable battery that lasts about 90 minutes. The battery is well protected inside the handle from getting any water damage.
As far as the brush heads, the spin scrubber comes with 4 different removable heads.
I use the flat brush and the corner brush to clean the tub and shower. Others use the flat brush to clean grout, which I have yet to try. (I’m too thrilled about how easy it is to clean a shower!)
I like to use the microfiber cloth brush on mirrors and glass after cleaning with a microfiber cloth to pick up any extra dust or residue.
I haven’t used the dome brush much but it’s a general cleaning brush.
The whole kit comes with a drawstring mesh bag to keep everything conveniently together.
I’ve been so thrilled at getting this scrubber and finding an easy way to clean a shower. As I said before, cleaning the shower is the worst chore ever invented. Now it’s one of the easiest parts of my cleaning routine.
