I’d had enough —after 7 years of fighting with the drawer where I stored my baking pans & muffin tins, I caved and bought a bakeware rack. This is the first time in my entire life that I’ve ever used one. Now that I see and use my newly organized digs, I’m convinced that this is how to organize baking pans & muffin tins.
Here’s how to organize baking pans & muffin tins & a review of the tool I used to do it: the YouCopia Adjustable Bakeware Rack.
First, why I should have bought a bakeware rack sooner:
My kitchen’s oven/ microwave zone has a drawer below and a large cabinet above. When we first moved in 7 years ago, I thought the best use of the upper cabinet would be for items I rarely used. This proved to be a mistake becomes over the years …It became a jumble of everything that didn’t have a place to go. (That’s not good if I’m following my own organizing rules.)
Furthermore, I thought the drawer below the oven was PERFECT for bakeware …until my collection grew. It took me a while to realize the annoyance of having to pull out several pans just to find the one I needed. Additionally, the constant scratching of many pans became evident.
With all that said, reorganizing the entire zone had become necessary. To accomplish that, I needed a reliable bakeware rack, which happened to be the only item I invested in for organizing the entire zone.
Storing baking pans & muffin tins with a bakeware rack
A bakeware rack is a great organizing solution. As long as your cabinet or pantry shelves are tall enough for vertical storage, it prevents items from falling over or getting stuck together. When you need a pan, it’s quick & easy to pull it out of its place without the hassle of adjusting everything else in the cabinet.
Why I choose the YouCopia Adjustable Bakeware Rack
There were several reasons why I choose this particular bakeware rack. First, I’ve used their spice drawer liners for years. Next, came several specific factors about the rack:
- Sturdiness
- Adjustability
- Convenience
- Price
Sturdy & non-slip base
This was the biggest selling point for me. As I browsed around for a rack, most looked cheap and flimsy.
The base of the YouCopia Adjustable Bakeware Rack is very sturdy because of its wide, open base (which also keeps round pans center) and the non-slip feet keep it in place.
Adjustable dividers (aka customization)
I’ve collected many specialized baking pans over the years —from mini-muffin tins to donut pans to standard baking pans. The adjustable steel dividers lock into the groves in the base. This keeps all the pans upright in my cabinet and makes it easy to get them in and out.
I had plenty of room for more pans but I put large container lids there instead. Unfortunately, the cabinet I have to work with is not very tall, so my pizza pans didn’t fit vertically. However, if that wasn’t a problem, I would have had plenty of room for them!
Set up in minutes
I pulled the rack out of the box, unwrapped the dividers, and started adjusting them to fit my bakeware. It’s designed to fit inside standard cabinets (the product measurements are 11.5” W x 7.3” D x 6.3” H (with dividers inserted)). Once I adjusted my dividers to fit my bakeware, it took two minutes to set it up in the cabinet.
Price
The YouCopia Adjustable Bakeware Rack is priced competitively to other racks. In fact, I’d say it’s a better deal than many others because it’s so sturdy! Comparable racks are wire without bases. With its sturdy base, the YouCopia rack isn’t going anywhere.
Tools that maximize kitchen storage
This bakeware rack was worth the money. I’m saving time by not dealing with everything becoming misplaced and it’s helped me to use my space more efficiently. Now I’m considering buying a second one to store other lids and cutting boards!
